At the center of Anpu lies the courtyard with the pooja space, forming the emotional and spiritual heart of the house. This open to sky space allows natural light to filter gently into the surrounding areas, creating changing patterns of light and shadow through the day. These subtle shifts bring rhythm to daily life and deepen the experience of prayer and pause. The pooja anchors the courtyard with calm and reverence, while seating and floor levels around it invite quiet conversations and moments of stillness. Plants introduce greenery and breeze, strengthening the connection to nature.
Opposite the pooja, across the courtyard, a circular brick patterned wall becomes a defining architectural element. This opening filters light and air into the courtyard, enhancing cross ventilation while maintaining privacy. Beyond its functional role, the circular form symbolizes continuity, balance, and wholeness. Light and shadow are treated as essential materials here, shaping mood, slowing movement, and adding depth to the spatial experience.

The interior spaces continue this layered narrative. Bedrooms on the upper floor are designed as double height volumes with attic spaces above. The vertical openness allows air to circulate freely and brings in soft daylight, creating calm and airy retreats. The attic spaces add an intimate layer within the openness, offering quiet corners for rest, reading, or reflection.
The upper living area is conceived as a space dedicated purely to family gathering and conversation. Free from televisions and distractions, it encourages presence and togetherness. Pivoted windows line this space, allowing flexible control over ventilation and daylight. They enable air to move evenly across the room, reduce heat buildup, and gently filter light while maintaining privacy and visual connection with the outdoors.

Materials are used in their honest form, with brick, timber, clay tiles, stone, metal, and plastered surfaces creating warmth and tactile richness. Anpu, a home called love, is ultimately a place where architecture quietly supports relationships, rituals, and everyday living, allowing love, memory, and time to shape the space.
Anpu is a home that listens. It gathers light softly, lets shadows linger, and allows air to move like a quiet presence through its spaces. Rooted in ritual and shaped by climate, it holds everyday moments with care, from shared conversations to silent prayers. Walls breathe, courtyards pause, and rooms unfold slowly, revealing warmth rather than spectacle. Anpu does not rush or demand attention. It simply stays, growing with memory, holding love gently, and turning ordinary life into something deeply felt.
