Entry Foyer of Coromandel Court by Temple Town
The home opens with a foyer inlaid with semi-precious stone, immediately signalling a commitment to craftsmanship. Towering 20-foot ceilings give way to a dramatic sunken living room -a three-foot-deep conversation pit carved exactly as the client imagined. This is the heart of Coromandel Court, a vibrant centre for gatherings that spill naturally into the outdoor bar and gazebo, blurring the lines between indoor grandeur and outdoor leisure.
Across the home, the design weaves together a sophisticated blend of regional and global influences. Although the foundation is predominantly South Indian, the family's love for Kalighats, miniatures, Pichwai paintings, and artifacts collected from across India creates an eclectic, highly personal narrative.

A tranquil Pooja room sits at the heart of the home, echoing temple architecture through a contemporary lens. The children's room bursts with playful energy: trundle beds, a colourful palette, a cosy mezzanine loft, and a handcrafted divider of brass pipes threaded with Channapatna toys. This divider encapsulates the project's spirit-a joyful intersection of traditional craft and youthful imagination.

The Jewel-Box Powder Room, tucked beneath the staircase, and a curated staircase niche continue the theme of handcrafted detail in unexpected corners. A double-height family room provides a relaxed everyday haven, while the home theatre is a true indulgence: leather recliners, plaid acoustic walls, cherished film posters, seating for fifteen, and its own fridge for marathon movie nights.

The principal suite is the home's crown jewel. A custom-designed princely poster bed anchors the space, but the defining moment of Heirloom Modernism is found in the wardrobe. Here, a Raja Ravi Varma Radha in the Moonlight painting is seamlessly integrated into the wardrobe panels-an intimate gallery moment for the couple that transforms storage into art.

Remarkably, the entire project was completed within nine months, fuelled by a shared passion for authenticity, design history, and the idea of creating an heirloom for future generations.
