Living room of Grigio Verde by Studio Nilasha
Even before stepping inside, the home begins to reveal its character. A landscape designed by the studio guides visitors along stone steps juxtaposed with soft greenery, toward the front door. The foyer, cloaked in shades of grey, evokes a sense of stillness - cool, composed, and quietly immersive. To one side, the informal living, kitchen, and dining spaces unfold in a seamless flow; on the other, the master bedroom and the formal living - now reimagined as a home office - anchor the quieter end of the plan. At the heart of the layout, a staircase rises, its black perforated metal railing serving as a graphic backdrop to a beloved motorcycle - a piece of personal history proudly on display.
The material palette remains consistent as one moves through the home, creating a seamless visual rhythm. In the informal living area, the same greys continue but are punctuated with ochre and rust upholstery - offering a warm contrast to the subdued backdrop. The kitchen and dining are combined into a unified space, where charcoal-toned cabinetry and dark stone counters lend a sleek, contemporary edge. A minimalist dining table is integrated into the layout. Interestingly, while the grey palette stays uniform, its appearance shifts with the light - becoming softer and silvery where sunlight enters, and deeper, moodier in the shaded corners.

At the opposite end, the master bedroom unfolds as a calm sanctuary. Walnut wood flooring meets African blackwood paneling, grounding the space in rich, natural tones. The concrete walls continue here too, while soft furnishings introduce warmth and texture - rounding off a room that feels both refined and deeply restful.
As one ascends the staircase, a small study nook reveals itself - framed by wood and metal shelving, bathed in natural light, and imbued with a quiet warmth that makes it an inviting place to pause or work. Adjacent to this are two guest bedrooms, stripped of excess, in keeping with the home’s minimal language. Here, the grey envelope remains untouched, allowing the character to emerge through linen - warm tan in one room, and a cool, sage green in the other.

At the far end of this floor lies the daughters' room - a playful take on the home’s otherwise muted palette. Designed with a camp-like aesthetic, it features a bunk bed above and a study nook below. While the industrial cues remain intact through a metal frame and rope railing, the space softens with color: a hand-painted mural by Studio Nilasha in grey, light blue, and teal dances across the walls and ceiling, adding a touch of vibrancy and brightness that reflects the energy of the children. Dusty rose accents - subtly introduced through the chair and a few objects - round out the palette with a gentle harmony.
This home stands out for its bold embrace of a monochromatic palette, which, far from feeling cold, creates an atmosphere of quiet sophistication and warmth. The studio’s careful integration of industrial elements with personal, playful touches sets it apart. In its monochrome quietude, the home resonates with warmth, restraint, and a lived-in honesty - an elegant reflection of both Studio Nilasha’s sensibility and the family’s way of life.
