The Café is located amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. The project is located on the upper ground floor of a multi-storeyed building. The biggest challenge we faced was the geometry of the site after its expansion. The site had many acute angles; hence the utmost utilization of the space was a challenge we overcame. Due to the expansion, the column that used to be an outdoor construction remained intact and became a central part of the design.
The spatial configuration of the site inspired us to use the palette of white and grey to enhance the perception of the space and add depth with greenery where needed. Justifying the name of the café, the ambiance makes the visitor feel that he is sitting amidst nature.
The two arches that hold the seating areas enhance the composition of the entire space. Finished in white stucco, these arches also render a perfect backdrop to the green upholstery used.
Through lighting design and reusing the existing furniture, we have strived to bring out the beauty of the materials used and the characteristics of the spatial layout, further enhancing the space to adapt to various events. Pockets of seating have been created to form cozy spaces for visitors.
