Located in the lush surroundings of Emaar Marbella Villas in Gurugram, Lujo offers an idyllic retreat for a family seeking a harmonious blend of modern comfort and natural beauty. This 2400 sq. ft. holiday home, meticulously crafted by the Gurugram-based architectural firm House & Beyond, is designed to be a sanctuary of elegance and ease.

The house is designed for a family whose brief was straightforward: a holiday home distinct from their primary residence that blends effortlessly with nature while having all modern amenities. At the cornerstone of this project’s design is a 12-column grid layout, an ingenious approach that brings rhythm, proportion, and functionality to the space. This layout maximises the use of setbacks and enriches internal visual spaces, allowing natural light and greenery to permeate every corner. The result is an open, airy environment that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor living.

Lujo's layout intelligently divides the home into distinct zones for various functions. The basement is dedicated to recreation, featuring a lounge with an open bar and a home theatre. An open court at the rear ensures ample natural light, making this space perfect for relaxation and entertainment. The ground floor is designed for elegant gatherings, fostering conversation, shared moments, and culinary delights with its open layout. It includes a drawing area, an open kitchen with a dining space, and a guest bedroom. Expansive windows and glass doors frame the surrounding landscape, seamlessly connecting the indoors with the outdoors.

Transitioning between floors, Lujo eschews the conventional lift for an innovative platform lift system. This blend of smart, sustainable technology and sleek Mediterranean design is both space-saving and energy-efficient. The lift's three-sided access allows for versatile movement, enhancing the home's functionality without compromising its aesthetic appeal.

The first floor serves as the heart of the home, a private sanctuary where tranquillity reigns. The master bedroom and the elder son's bedroom open onto balconies with stunning vistas, and inviting refreshing breezes. A cosy family lounge, adorned with a raised study nook, overlooks a double-height terrace, enriching the ambiance with a sense of boundless space and openness.

The second floor is a dance of serenity and nature. Here, a raised jacuzzi invites calm soaks, while an open terrace with a cabana and lush greenery offers ultimate relaxation. Mediterranean-inspired interiors, with warm, earthy tones and natural materials like rattan, lime wash, and wood, create an inviting ambiance that radiates timeless elegance.

High ceilings and large windows are defining features of Lujo, maximizing natural light and enhancing the sense of space. The interiors reflect the azure hues of the Mediterranean Sea, while Swarovski white marble and lime concrete in subtle colours celebrate the double-height volumes and natural light. Bespoke furniture by House & Beyond further accentuates this home's luxurious yet earthy feel. Simple, elegant designs made from natural materials like wood and wicker, combined with soft-hued fabrics, colourful textiles, pottery, and ceramics, create a cosy and comfortable ambiance. Soft, diffused lighting, including wall sconces, pendant lights, and table lamps with warm-toned shades, enhances the Mediterranean aesthetic, with dimmer switches allowing for adjustable lighting to suit any mood.

Lujo, with its 12-column grid layout, is a Mediterranean-themed delight. House & Beyond has crafted a retreat that is both functional and visually striking. As Ar. Pushpender Arora, Principal Designer and Founder of House & Beyond, says, "A space is about what it makes you feel. It is about what you see and touch." This project truly embodies this philosophy, offering a harmonious blend of modern comfort and natural beauty.
