Tucked in the heart of Surat — India's diamond city — this 635 sq. ft. studio is STUDIO INTRICA's very own creative home. More than just a workspace, it's a living expression of everything the studio stands for: a place where organic warmth meets refined, contemporary design. Every corner — from the textured walls you want to reach out and touch, to the striking marble surfaces and carefully crafted ceiling details — tells the story of a team that genuinely loves what they do. The belief here is simple: a space should feel like an experience. And that same belief drives every project they take on for their clients.

At the heart of the studio there are four design elements that perhaps say the most about who STUDIO INTRICA is and how they think:

1. River in the Ceiling: Look up, and you'll find Surat's beloved Tapi River flowing overhead. Crafted from intricately cut and installed SS ripple sheets that mimic the gentle movement of water, this ceiling feature is a quiet tribute to the city the studio calls home. Suspended among the ripples are spherical lights — each one a nod to the "Diyas" (oil lamps) that float on the river during festivals, carrying with them the spirit of prosperity that Surat has always embodied.

2. Laser-Cut Cityscape: In the waiting lounge, a dimensional wall installation invites visitors to pause and look a little closer. It presents a bird's-eye view of two different cities from around the world — a subtle yet powerful statement of STUDIO INTRICA's ambitions and their desire to make a mark on the global design stage.

3. The 3×3 Classic Matrix: Step into the lead designer's personal studio — the Designer's Den — and your eyes are drawn to a 3×3 grid of carefully curated artifacts mounted on the wall. The backdrop is a rich, textured plaster surface that feels almost ancient, like something carved from the earth itself. Against it, smooth white ceramic pieces with delicate black detailing create a beautifully sharp contrast. It's a dialogue between the raw and the refined, between nature and craft. The grid brings structure and intention, yet within it, every object is different — cones, voids, faces — each with its own personality. It's order with soul. Intricacy within order. The very idea that gave the studio its name.

4. Vertical Village Scroll: Three kakejiku scrolls turn the staff area into a gallery. Abstract architectural forms rendered in watercolour and blueprint lines speak to the tension between intuition and structure — fluid ideas given solid form. Lime-wash walls and handcrafted wooden dowels ground the space in tactile warmth, while individual brass lamps confer quiet gallery status on each piece. The spacing between scrolls is as considered as the art itself. A restrained palette of muted teals and burnt oranges softens the architecture, making the built environment feel lived-in rather than assembled.

Beyond these signature moments, the studio flows naturally between its different areas. A custom glazed partition connects the staff and waiting zones — keeping the space open and collaborative while still giving each area its own sense of purpose. Neutral tones, topographic artwork, and the fluid ceiling feature work together to create an environment that feels calm, considered, and welcoming — for the team that works here every day, and for the clients who walk through the door.
