We believe good design should allow you to touch, feel, and sense the journey of each piece, to see how rich the materials are. Pure or raw materials reflect a direct connection to the Earth and give us a sense of the many layers and beauty of nature. They enrich our experience of an object, making it alive.

The brief from the clients was to create an extension to their existing bungalow that captures their personalities. The extension consists of two new Master Bedrooms and a landscaped space that helps them relax.

The first Master bedroom is a multi-functional space, where with a push of the wooden sliding shutters the lounge and the bedroom can be one. The lounge is designed with a raw material palette. A striking concrete floor is accompanied by light wooden furniture, while the windows are cloaked with pure cotton curtains. As the lights pass through the chanderi silk sheers you can see a glimpse of the beautifully landscaped terrace outside.

When you pass through the sliding doorway, the bedroom greets you with the warmth of the wooden flooring and the starkness of the blue feature wall with a hidden door opening to the dressing room. The king-size bed is placed in the middle of the room which divides the space to create a snug study area behind. The study is backed by a large C shaped window that lights up the entire area. Along with the window is a small day bed where you can read your favourite book while enjoying a cup of coffee. The toilet also is a play of textures with a striking natural black stone which is complemented by the golden bathroom fittings.

The second master bedroom deals with a more uninterrupted floor plate, giving us a bigger volume to design. The colour palette is a sophisticated tone on materials and textures, showcasing the aqua blue feature wall. The grey flooring perfectly blends with the dark wood veneer, resulting in a wholesome palette. The client's love for plants adds subtle touches of green into the space, making it refreshing. High ceiling was essential while designing this space. The clients wished to have the maximum volume used for the room, making it look grander.

The skylight above the feature wall brings in abundant light to brighten the room and create stark shadows. A corner in the bedroom houses the study with a long wooden desk along with a window catering to natural light. The huge aluminium sliding shutters create a gateway to connect the bedroom to the landscape outside.
