This 2100 sq.ft.apartment is located in one of the prime residential areas of Vadodara city. When the clients decided to get their new home designed, the brief was clear. They wanted a home that was elegant, spacious, clutter-free and easy-to-maintain.
This 4-BHK space was given to us as a bare shell. We converted one of the bedrooms into a family sitting adjoining the dining space. A few other civil changes were also accommodated adhering to the client’s needs. While minimalism was the theme, we did not refrain from using splashes of colour at a few places to accentuate the ambience.
We wanted the entry foyer to look welcoming, elegant and attractive. Doing the entry wall was challenging. We got a customized artwork installed. Material used in it was casted aluminium with antique finish. The back wall was painted in forest green. The adjoining length of storage cabinets was duco painted to merge with surrounding walls.
The foyer opens up into a large living room. Here, we got another art installation done, but this time using glass and enamelled copper. Each glass flower has been meticulously blown and customised. It has been fixed using metal studs and wooden knobs. The copper flowers have been enamelled to get the right teal colour and then lacquered.
The 8’ long single glass door with fluted glass and wood is yet another salient feature. It divides the living and dining space to give privacy when needed. When not in use, it slides to hide completely between two layers of TV partition.
An open kitchen with island counter, a circular dining table, multipurpose TV unit with storage and mandir done in veneer- all speak of details and designing furniture on site. All bathrooms have been carefully designed, keeping in mind the clients’ taste and functionality.
We have tried to explore materials like slate veneer along with basic teak veneer to accentuate the TV wall. Also, casted aluminium art work and glass flowers with copper and wood accents have been used. White cladding bricks have been used as a cladding material for a bed back wall.
All in all, we have tried to achieve an ambience that would prevail peace and harmony in the home and create a lasting impression.
