Engulfed with green cover on all sides, Kalhaar Blues and Greens Golf Course is a residential project spread in 450 acres of land with 90% open spaces and 801 plots specifically designed as weekend homes with a typical civil layout. The project includes golf courses, gymnasium, lawn tennis court, badminton court, swimming pool among many other amenities. Post pandemic, many occupants have made this home as their primary residence.

The client wanted to use this house as a party house and accordingly minor civil changes were carried out as per requirement followed by complete interior phase of the project. The client is a cook and an interior designer by profession, though she is not practicing currently. The theme of the design is based and inspired from bohemian style and hence it is known as, “The Boho House”. The house has one master bedroom and guest room with attached toilet and walk in wardrobe along with different entry then house for the guest room on ground floor in addition to living, dinning, kitchen, home theater attached bar with covered sitting and courtyard as well as Servant quarters at a rear. The first floor has two bedroom on either end, puja and open seating.

The entrance to the house has a Buddha sculpture with perforated wall as backdrop with a opening leading to servant quarters, the trail to main door is complimented with aisle of patina finish light post, sculptures, greenery and bohemian, hinting the user about the character of the house. The user is greeted into the house by a large courtyard, with a central flowering plant along with painted wall and wall hung sculptures enhancing the grandeur of the space. The linear pocket covered with slopping roof reflects the similar trait with carved corbel brackets for enhancing the threshold on either side of the door, to the house and a guest room. The dining and living room is designed without any visual barrier, eventually connecting the courtyard and the rear sit-out and garden. The color palette, furniture, decor and wall paintings is specifically handpicked with attention to the detail about the nature of the house it was suppose to be mould in, along with coffered ceiling with designed wallpaper.

The home theatre is designed with a cozy lounger and recliners setting the perfect mood for screening; the bar counter on the rear of the room complements the usability of the home theatre connected to covered seating and washroom.

The son’s room has a raw exposed theme, feature wall of Grey paint on exposed brick along with wooden paneling on ceiling accenting the complete layout of the space.

The challenge in designing the interior of this house was to inculcated the theme in sober and elegant way where it would not dominate residents along with giving a homely vibe, in short an essence of harmony with vibrancy.
