The project also integrates an art element titled “Face of Seeds” on the front elevation, symbolizing the five nutmeg trees. As the main structure remains partially hidden behind the trees, this artwork becomes the visual identity of the home.
Material choices include concrete and steel for structure, micro-topping and IPS flooring for interiors, and lime plaster for exteriors. The color palette draws inspiration from the nutmeg fruit earthy tones of the outer pod, deep reds of the mace, and darker shades reflecting the seed and tree bark.

A steel-structured cantilevered bedroom on the first floor spans between two trees, carefully positioned to utilize the natural gap. Supported by minimal ‘I’ section columns inspired by tree trunks, this element creates a light, floating experience. The entrance is placed beneath this cantilever, enhancing spatial drama on arrival.
A tilted toilet tower is placed at the front, forming a contrasting element and the only part of the design that is perpendicular to the main block, helping create visual and circulation balance at the entrance. A private bedroom and pool are positioned at a 100-degree angle, aligning with the overall geometry and enhancing the experiential journey through the site, especially as one move past the largest nutmeg tree.

The project demonstrates a sensitive approach to site-responsive architecture, where built form and landscape coexist seamlessly. By preserving and celebrating the existing trees, the design creates a unique spatial experience rooted in nature, offering a peaceful retreat for family gatherings while maintaining a strong identity connected to its context.
