The charming couple who had an equally fascinating love story had reached out to us with such positive vibes and good energy that we immediately got immersed in their narrative. Post having detailed conversations with them and their family of two boys it gave us a lot of clarity on how they envisioned their space to be a mix of traditional, contemporary and sprinkles of glamour. Maintaining the same train of thought we designed the space in such a way that we catered to their requirements whilst adding in some stunning pieces both customized and sourced from different parts of India.

The highlight of the house was undoubtedly - The Mandir. Taken more than 500 labour hours to ideate, structure and execute, this piece of art is composed together with the intricate metal CNC cut outs done in absolute precision structured with premium quality ply and teak solid wood, this gorgeous design is framed with 200 year old antique carvings giving the much needed attention it deserves.

Encapsulating a traditional yet modern charm to the common areas the sprawling formal living area is framed with chettinad pillars, centralized with a traditionally armored puja unit in walnut and teak wooden tones while the upholstery and soft furnishings are of a lighter pastel tone. Upon entering the apartment one is welcomed by a long passageway towards the dining, crossing the living area and a large customized brass piped open-close bar/library unit. The Dining table and chairs are procured from Stanley harmonizing with the language of the space with thin slatted teak wood leg details with beveled marble table top and chairs with turquoise upholstery carrying a color tone from the living to the dining. The large dining unit sits framed on one side of the wall composed well with the gray tinted glass door shutters. The console unit with engraved router cut details and beautiful quartz table top tucks in perfectly well inside the niche.

Sneaking a peek from the dining opens to the home’s soul- The kitchen. Embodying and molding traditional and eclectic together and taking a cue from nature, the earthy toned motif flooring balances the play of emerald green adorned with brass details. While the material palette evokes nature the white quartz seamlessly blends with the counter top and dado to bring in balance, tranquility and health -characteristics well suited to a room that has become THE SOUL OF THE HOUSE. The four bedroom house accommodates a Master bedroom, the elder and younger son’s room and the guest bedroom.

For the Master, capitalizing the views from the outside and bringing them in the patterns, palette, fabrics were selected keeping the lightness the room exhibited. The king size bed with solid wooden leg details was customized with an infinity headboard exuding the expanse of the room. A seamless concealed sliding door for the walk-in wardrobe tucked in the farthest corner visually unaltered the space whilst still dividing it.

Blooming into this fine young man, the elder son's room was starkly different from the other rooms. Done up majorly in dark shades of grey with pops of turquoise, the room gave a contemporary /modern man cave vibe. Young ones always have a mind of their own.The youngest family member was the clearest with his must-haves. Contemporary bed with a funky headboard design covered in tan leather gets accentuated with the navy blue designer back panelling. The back paneling also extends to a sliding door for a small walkin wardrobe space which eventually opens up to the bathroom, achieving privacy and seamlessness at one go. The other side of the bed has a full size wardrobe and side shelving for maximum storage space facing the attached study table.

As for the guest bedroom cum parent’s room we went for a calm, serene and collected ambience. Taking a que form practical nursing requirements this queen size bed was customized with an extra bottom pull out bed. Keeping in the lightness to a rather small space the wardrobe was finished with corner beading details and duco finish. The Golden handles set out as the most gorgeous detail to the double door wardrobe. A small dresser with gorgeous wall sconces highlighted the area perfectly. The entire space stitches together with elements of metal, wood and pops of color and texture into a surreal symphony.
