For the office space of our client who was a structure designer; it brought to us a challenging opportunity to create a functional yet appealing interior, by finding beauty in what generally remains hidden- the structural materials. So, we decided to expose some of those materials that cater to both aesthetic and structural purposes, which also reflects his profession. For ceiling in client’s cabin we have used reclaimed wood battens which hides all the services like electrical and air condition and rest for all the area we kept it naked as given by developer by having open wiring system and surface mounted light fixture. Since our client preferred to have transparency in his works, it became a guiding factor for us to design the layout, partitions, and every element purposefully. For example, clear glass was used to establish the trust and repo within the studio, which maintained the openness that helped lighten the ambiance within the space.

Sustainable, reclaimed and recycled materials such as wood and steel were used to design each furniture with more compact and cantilevered forms to make space feel more spacious. Partition, paneling and storage furniture were made out of polished veneer faced plywood. TMT steel bars were used to represent the porosity within the grids allowing us to create vertical green spaces that brought life inside, while also maintaining partial visual connection. To achieve the opacity of the partition at below level we filled this partition with cover blocks (used for construction) which eventually helped the partition to stand on its own.

We also intended to decorate the place with the residue of plywood and TMT steel bars and made wall-arts giving an artistic look to the interiors. Overall, the hierarchy of spaces was maintained with a smooth circulation with minimal layout; which resulted in a functional working environment.

TMT bar partition beautifully separates the working area and reception-waiting. It holds the greens which bring dynamism to space.

The client's practice of transparency in his working style gave us an opportunity to use clear glass partition which brought the natural light throughout the office.
